Attic hatches should be insulated to R49 whenever possible, and air-sealed with closed cell foam tape. We provide this service at no cost with our complete insulation packages.

There are many types of attic hatches. We install insulation wherever we can. For sidewall scuttle-style entries into attics, we glue as much board in place that we can. In this case, we are able to add R20 to this otherwise freezing cold access panel.
